Description
As liquids are practically incompressible, the compressibility of a gas (in this case nitrogen) is used in hydraulic accumulators to store energy.
A hydraulic accumulator consists of two chambers (liquid side and gas side), which are separated by a flexible, gas-tight element. The liquid side is connected to the hydraulic circuit of the system. When the pressure in the system rises, the accumulator is filled with oil and the gas is compressed. If the pressure drops, the stored pressurised liquid is forced back into the circuit by expansion of the compressed gas.
Ordering information
Pressure accumulators are available uncharged ex-warehouse. Additional costs apply upon customer request for N2-charging.
